Troubadour is now accepting submissions for our Pandemic Issue.
We are looking for short stories or poetry that deal with the subject of infection, sickness, plagues, quarantines, and lockdowns, whether historical, present, future, or fantastical. As far as tone, we welcome anything from bleak to hopeful, or even humorous.
Our guidelines are as follows:
Genre: We are specifically focused on and inspired by the classics of Western literature in style and substance, but otherwise welcome works of any genre that reflects the theme of pandemics, from romance to mystery to horror to science fiction and fantasy.
Word Count: Up to 7,500 words.
Reprints: We will consider reprints, but please clearly identify that the work is a reprint.
Multiple Submissions: Send as many submissions as you like.
Simultaneous Submissions: We will not accept simultaneous submissions.
Format: Standard manuscript format.
Please send your submission(s) and contact information to email@example.com with "PANDEMIC SUBMISSION" included in the subject line.
Troubadour is currently unable to compensate authors for their work monetarily, although we would like to do so in the future.
